Margot Kidder’s death reminds us of how the stigma of mental illness can affect public figures. But what about those suffering on the front lines of our healthcare system?

We are at particular risk (see minute 11:20 for my take on my medical school experience) in healthcare, and yet we’re unlikely to seek help due to the very real stigma. Suicide, PTSD, and horrible preventable human suffering result.
