Staying Human In Medicine (w/Dr. David Epstein)

He’s a pediatric intensivist, entrepreneur, and a true example of compassion and humanism in medicine. 

I first encountered Dr. David Epstein via his performance in this vaccine “debate.” He was calm, caring, and behaved like a real human being when talking about why he’s passionate about vaccines. “We need more of this sort of honesty in healthcare,” I thought.

So I invited him to join me in my home for this discussion, and he was even more awesome in person. We talk about seeing vaccine preventable illnesses in the ICU setting, like meningococcemia and influenza, what ECMO is all about, handling difficult ICU conversations about end of life, starting a pediatric urgent care, and much much more.
